How Nexbrick™ Works — Mechanically Fixed Brick Facade System

Nexbrick™ is a lightweight mechanically fixed brick facade system. 25mm real brick slips engage into a dual-engagement Australian-made steel rail — no mortar required. Any brick, any supplier, any orientation. 55kg/m² total system weight installs up to 4× faster than traditional bricklaying.

How to Install Nexbrick™

  1. 1
    Substrate preparation

Prepare the structural substrate (steel frame, concrete, or masonry backing). Confirm fixing points meet Nexbrick™ structural loading specifications.

  2. 2
    Rail installation

Fix the dual-engagement steel rail to the substrate at specified centres. Rails are Australian-made and supplied by Modular Masonry Group.

  3. 3
    Brick slip engagement

Engage 25mm real brick slips into the dual-engagement rail from both contact points. No mortar or adhesive required for the brick-to-rail connection.

  4. 4
    Panel or onsite assembly

Assemble as prefabricated panels offsite (crane-lifted) or install onsite. Prefab panels offer the fastest install time.

  5. 5
    Pointing and finishing

Apply EasyPoint Mortar or specified joint compound. Compatible with any brick supplier and any standard pointing product.

Where Nexbrick™ Can Be Applied

Soffits & Undersides

Nexbrick™ is mechanically fixed, enabling brick to be installed upside-down on soffits and undersides — structurally impossible with mortar.

Curved Surfaces

Custom jigs and the rail system’s flexibility allow complex curves to be executed with standard brick slips.

Flat Walls

Standard installation at 4× the speed of traditional bricklaying with factory-controlled quality.

Complex Corners & Angles

Purpose-built corner profiles and custom-angle rails handle any geometric requirement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a brick slip system?

A brick slip system uses thin brick facings (20–25mm) fixed to a carrier rail rather than full-depth bricks laid in mortar. Nexbrick™ uses 25mm real brick slips on a dual-engagement steel rail at 55kg/m².

How is Nexbrick mechanically fixed?

Each brick slip clips into the dual-engagement steel rail from two contact points. No mortar or adhesive required for the brick-to-rail connection.

Can Nexbrick be used on soffits and curved surfaces?

Yes. Nexbrick™ handles soffits, curved facades, complex corners, and custom angles in any brick orientation — impossible with traditional mortar masonry.

How does Nexbrick compare to traditional bricklaying?

Up to 4× faster installation. Factory panel assembly, crane-lift into position, no wet trades on site. Competitive installed cost when scaffolding and labour savings are included.

Is Nexbrick NCC 2025 compliant?

Yes. Nexbrick™ meets NCC 2025 requirements for mechanically fixed facade systems including structural connections, fire safety, and waterproofing.
