A more considered way to build in brick.
These are the practical ways the system reduces material and structural demand compared with traditional full-depth masonry.
Lighter facades, less structure
At a typical installed mass of around 52 kg/m², Nexbrick weighs roughly a quarter of traditional brick veneer (about 200 kg/m²). A lighter facade reduces the structural load the building has to carry, which can mean less supporting steel and concrete behind the wall, and easier handling and transport on site.
More facade from less brick
With many premium bricks, two usable faces can be cut from a single brick. Where a brick suits this approach, it effectively doubles the facade yield from the same fired clay, reducing the number of bricks a project needs to order and fire.
Real clay brick that lasts
Nexbrick uses real kiln-fired clay brick, not a printed or coated imitation. Brick is a proven, long-life facade material with colour through the body, so it does not need painting or recoating and ages gracefully over decades.
Mechanically fixed and demountable
Because facings are mechanically engaged on a rail rather than wet-bonded into a structural wall, components sit within a ventilated rainscreen and can be accessed for repair. The approach favours targeted repair over wholesale replacement.
Less waste, more control
Brick cutting, processing and prefabrication happen in controlled conditions. Precise cutting and offsite preparation reduce offcuts, breakage and site waste compared with cutting and laying entirely in place.
Made locally
The mechanical rail is roll formed in Melbourne from Australian-made BlueScope ZINCALUME® steel. Local manufacture shortens supply chains and keeps production of a critical system component close to the projects it serves.
